COPECK STUDIO

My love for photography started at eight years old, in a darkroom with my Dad. The first time I saw a picture "magically" appear in the developer I was hooked. From that point I was never far from my camera or darkroom. Thirty six years later the smell of fixer may be gone but the passion is not.

I went on to the School of visual arts and Long Island University. After three years I came to the realization that the best teachers in the world were a phone call and interview away. Not only were they free, they were willing to pay me to learn! With a full schedule of assisting jobs lined up and much to the chagrin of just about everyone i knew I packed up my dorm room and never looked back.

After assisting for various photographers in Manhattan and New Jersey I ended up landing a freelance assistant job at the Macys photo studio in Newark. Well, I got the education I was looking for. During that time I had the opportunity to hone my skills shooting everything I could dream of with the best equipment I've ever seen. It was quite an experience.

Again, after three years and against the advice of just about everyone but my wife. I turned down an offer of a full time gig for a jewelry catalog and a couple of postcards. I borrowed some lights, ran a few extension cords to my attic and once again never looked back.

Twenty four years, four kids, three studios and two dogs later I have shot countless images for catalogs, ads, e-mails and web sites. My clients have included Macy's, Costco, Loehmann's, Dillards, Marshall Field's, Mandee, Avenue, Finlay Fine Jewelry and Mastoloni Pearls.

My studio offers a full range of photographic and post production services. I provide my clients the experience and equipment to take their project through concept, photography, retouching, color correction and proofing for both print and digital media.
